Offering a Southern Folk Art 9" tall face jug pitcher made by Albert Hodge, Vale, North magasin Carolina. High texture clay with dark brown underglaze and midnight blue overglaze. Striking blue, with a hint of plum, drips on the back of the pitcher. Dark blue eyes with blue drips and four teeth. Signed in script on the back "Albert Hodge". Albert Hodge is a self taught potter, aleft-handed artist using a right-handed potter's wheel. Hodge developed an unconventional technique in which he pulls the clay from the inside of his pot, instead of the outside. Excellent original condition.
